Two more concerts are scheduled for April in Honolulu, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu, Diamond Head Crater Celebration and Kokua Festival.
First up in the month is the Diamond Head Crater Celebration on April 1st, 2006. This is the first concert in the crater in almost 30 years. The event will be an all day event lasting from 2:00 pm to about 8:00 pm, hopefully later. The artists showing up for the celebration include the feature act Steve Miller Band, Honolulu Symphony with Special Guests Pops Conductor Matt Catingub, WAR, Sonny Ching with Halau Na Mamo O Pu�uanahulu, and Kenny Endo�s Taiko Center of the Pacific. Along with this will be food, shops, and other tents offering information and fun for everyone.
Tickets for the Crater Celebration will be on sale January 28th and the 29th only at the Waikiki Shell Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, and the Blaisdell Arena Box Office.
Also on the South Shore of Oahu at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu is the great Kokua Festival put on by Jack Johnson. We went last years concert and it was amazing. The concert will be held on April 22, 2006 on Oahu and will also be held April 19th on Maui. Both concerts will showcase several artists and groups including Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Willie Nelson, Henry Kapono, Paula Fugo, and ALO.
The Kokua is festival is used to promote eco-friendly businesses, environmental issues, artists, teachers, and community leaders. Tickets for the event go on sale February 4th 9:00 am island time at all Ticketmaster locations and Ticketmaster.com.
