A shark attacked a female surfer today on the North Shore of Oahu. The attack happened at a surf break called leftovers. Leftovers is about 1 mile south of the famous Waimea Bay. The shark grabbed and bit the leg of the female surfer. The surfer was then taken to Kahuku Hospital about 10 miles away also on the North Shore of Oahu.
The severity of the bite is still unknown and the condition of the surfer is also unknown. There isn’t a lifeguard at Leftovers surf break so it is assumed that the surfer was helped to the shore by fellow surfers in the water.
Shark sighting signs were posted at Waimea Bay all the way to Laniakea.
