Water Bar opens in Waikiki

Are you looking for a place to get some refreshments after a long day in Waikiki. Maybe you surfed all day at Canoes, or snorkeled all day at Hanauma Bay. Possibly the hike up Diamond Head was too much for you and you need something to wet your whistle. Well look no further, you can get a great bottle of water at a local bar selling nothing but.

Yes that’s right, a water bar has opened for business in waikiki. A place where they serve nothing but water and only water.

Their main draw is planned to be the desalinated water they sell under the label Mahalo. The desalinated water is the first commercially available desalinated bottled water in the US. The price tag on some of this “delicious” water is $2.00 for a half liter and $4.50 for a liter and a half which is the same price at the bar (tip not included.)

If you want to spice up your water you can get it made with coffee or tea which the bar serves in many varieties. In August of 2006 the Koyo Company (producers of the water) are opening it’s 100,000 square foot Kona plant and will be producing 1 million bottles of the water daily.

The bar is located in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza near Kalakaua and Royal Hawaiian. Stop by and get some wonderfully refreshing water. Or just stop by to take in the interesting futuristic bar layout.

Aloha
