Lanakai Triathlon Cancels Swim and Helps Winner

Lanakai Triathlon was held this weekend in Lanikai on Oahu’s Windward shore of Kailua Beach Park. The swim portion of the race was to be held in Kailua Bay which due to recent rains that pounded Oahu and it’s windward shores was contaminated with a sewage spill into a nearby river system leading into the bay.

This prompted the race officials to cancel the swim portion of the triathlon and change the leg with a 2 mile run. This 2 mile run helped winner Tai Bletcha place first overall in the race. He was quoted in the recent issue of the Honolulu Advertiser saying he “isn’t great at the swim and welcomed the change.” Although his swim times are still very respectable the dual run portions helped him capitalize on his strong running skills and win the race in 59 minutes and 7 seconds.

Congratulations Tai. Next up for island triathletes is the Honolulu Triathlon.

Very impressive that this blog is syndicated through Google and is it something that is just up to Google or you actively created?

Obviously this is a popular blog with great data so well done on your seo success..
