Notice that dredging machine in the middle of your beautiful Waikiki view? It’s because the beach needs more sand. So stop taking it or we’re going to have to keep looking at large crazy machines like that.
No really, i’m sure part of it is because tourists take the sand but we do live on an island and the ocean does advance and receed taking sand and small children with it.
A portion of the Waikiki beach will be closed while workers bring sand in from off shore. They’re planning on bringing in 10,000 cubic yards of sand to fill in parts of the beach that have been taken, or eroded away.
