Breaking News: Dog the Bounty Hunter Owes Nearly $200,000 in Taxes

Read the Latest on Dog’s racial slur rant and leave a comment.

As reported on KHON 2 news this morning, Dog the Bounty Hunter might have more trouble than he is prepared to handle. On top of the extradition issues, according to Howard Dicus, Dog the Bounty Hunter owes nearly $200,000 in taxes.

Calls to Dog the Bounty Hunter were not returned to KHON, but his spokesperson reported that Dog has made contributions in the tens of thousands and is still continuing to pay it off. Howard discussed that it is a little more complicated for celebrities when it comes to taxes because they have to report the free gifts they receive, appreances, celebrities working more than one job (ie. in Dog’s case, his A&E show as well as his bail bond company), etc.

This can’t be good for Dog since he is also facing a legal battle with Mexico. With nearly $200,000 owed to taxes, Dog has much more on his hands than he thinks. Hopefully Dog’s legal team can get this dealt with so they can focus all their efforts on Dog’s extradition issues.

Sure does, and the IRS won’t have too much trouble tracking him down either. He’s unfortunately being tracked down by the Mexican autorities as well. Poor Dog. :(

I think the IRS problem is the best thing he could have hoped for. The US won’t let him go before he pays off the taxes, if he can prolong that enough then maybe Mexico will just give up.

I hope all goes well for dog… He is haveing a very hard time.. From me and all the staff at hackden.com god bless you dog.

Just when “Dog” Chapman thought it couldn’t get worse……

…now the government is pursuing him for back taxes owed in excess of $200,000. I’m having a hard time believing that figure is right. Part of me is just absolutely devastated by the news. Mr. Chapman evokes extreme reactions from everyone who knows…

  14. chuck darby Says:

Some of these comments are so stupid you people don’t know dog. So who do you think you are to make negative comments about him.If he owes $200,000 then he’s not making the millions you say he is.Maybe his accountant screwed up.And some of you idiots are quick to judge his past. How dare you ,I wonder whats in your past the you’ll be judged for.We do need more people like the dog,to help the police get some of these criminals off the street.Remember in some states you can’t even shoot an intruder in your own home. You liberals out there should be shot in the streets because there the ones who made this country a great place for criminals. But when one of you’re own family is murdered you cry “kill him”.So thank God for the dog,and you who judge him can go blow yourselves.I hope one you’ll need the dog, then what are you gonna say

Dog has worked hard to turn his life around, more than most of us. The back taxes are owed because his CPA apparently did not warn him about earning money while he is on A&E. We should stand by the man that is standing behind all of us, stop putting him down out of jealously.

duane dog chapman elicits a tremendous amount of jealousy from those losers out there who like to sit back n their torn lazy boy (aptly named) recliners and criticize those of us who get up every morning and go out there and try to do the right thing. you cowards sitting in your cozy little dumps would not know a hero if you tripped over him. this extradition is a travesty. shame on our government for not standing up for a citizen who should get a medal of honor. as far as the back taxes are concerned, rest assured if anything is owned dog will take care of it. it had to be as much of a surpise to him as to anyone. dog and beth deserve our support. they deserve our prayers. the rest of you losers can learn a lesson about getting yourselves out of the gutter and making something worthwhile of yourselves, instead of taking up space and continuing to be a parasite on your community. you had better walk a mile in his shoes before you comment on how they feel.

  19. NotBrainwashed Says:

Sophie, step back and smell what you are shoveling…..this guy is no hero (a convicted felon) and has conned you and many others.
    From an interview:
About 1967 Chapman had joined a biker gang, the “Devil’s Disciples,” and was entering a world of crime. Duane also acquired the name “DOG” from his “brother” Devil’s Disciples as it was the opposite of “GOD”. He himself described in an interview: Per Duane “”I was very loyal. I’m man’s best friend. I always showed up for the fight. I took care of my brothers,” he said. “I’m Native American so it’s in my blood to always want brothers and friends. I’m a good brotherhood guy. And ‘Dog’ is ‘God’ spelled backward.”
After a string of robbery arrests, he was convicted of being an accessory to murder and sentenced to five years in prison. (1972)

Now he just manipulates events, the facts, and the TV viewing audience for his personal gain as they claimed on Larry King Dec 06′:

KING: Do you make a lot of money doing what you do?

    B. CHAPMAN: No.

    D. CHAPMAN: I have fed a lot of children, but it’s been from arrest to arrest. I mean I’ve, you know, I’ve spent every dime arresting the next guy and feeding the kids.

But their contract for the third season was worth a reported $2.6 million. That’s a lot of money to me. I could show others like they claim they were taking Luster to a police station after they acquired him at 4:00 AM but were apprehended at a road block on the way to the airport at 6:00 AM

  20. NightHunter Says:

Well said, Sophie!! Damn well said!

These morons actually think Dog should go die in a Mexican prison, for catching a convicted serial rapist who should never have been in Mexico in the first place? Why? Maybe for not saying “may I” first?

Perhaps he should go to prison for taking all those millions of Luster pesos out of the hands of that impoverished and corrupt little country?

The fact of the matter is, that Dog was in constant contact with the FBI and Mexican authorities, and had even paid a Mexican cop to come along on the arrest. But the cop, (being Mexican and all) hightailed it when the tortias hit the fan!

The FBI and other authorities then disavowed any knowledge of the Dog’s actions, and they all left him holding the bag. he went to jail, paid bail, and then his Mexican lawyer told him just to go home and forget it!

As for Andrew LUSTer, after his capture they found a rape kit in his hotel room, the date rape drug GHB, and a video camera! So do you think he went to Mexico to work on his tan? No, he was going to rape their female citizens next! Of course, the federales wouldn’t care about that! He also had a “hit list” of people who testified against him at his trial. But who cares, right?

Consequently, I am sick and tired of hearing jealous BEAs and other hate mongers prattle on and on about how Chapman “broke the law and should pay the price!” What law? “Deprivation Of Liberty?” A petty misdemeanor in Mexico. Who by the way, are the good folks who made kidnapping a cottage industry!! Are you really stupid enough to believe that the Mexican authorities had no idea Luster was hiding there? Get real!!!

Mexican law? Give me a break!!

The same Mexico that harbors rapists like Luster, drug lords and cop killers, just to name a few; and flatly refuses to extradite them back to US soil. But the US can’t wait to bend over and grab their ankles when the Mexicans ask them to extradite three of their most famous citizens? Even if it violates the constitutional rights of the three Chapmans? Which it clearly does, as they cannot be extradited for a misdemeanor, and further not for any offence unless said offence is illegal in BOTH countries. Which isn’t the case here. Bounty Hunting is legal in most US states. Don’t talk about the sanctity of the law, when both countries are so willing to break theirs just to get the Chapmans!

The US government should flatly refuse to extradite the Chapmans for this misdemeanor nonsense of “Deprivation Of Liberty.” Besides, since Luster went from Dog’s cuffs straight to the FBI’s, and thence to Soledad (Folsom) prison to serve his 124 year sentence, I’d say his half hour or so with the Dog is the least of his problems!

And as for the justice or legality of what Dog and his boys did, I’ll take the word of Luster victim Tonja Doe over anybody elses, any day. She knows the horror and the true reality of the situation. She knows about the real facts of the matter. And a lot better than anybody in government on either side of the border!

Especially those corrupt taco benders in Mexico!!

All of you jealous little boys who hate Dog and the Chapmans so much, ought to ask yourselves what you’ve ever done for society? Collecting welfare doesn’t count, I’m afraid.

Duane “Dog” Chapman is a true hero, and so is his son Leland and blood brother Tim. They will emerge victorious in this case! There can be no other outcome!!

    DOG RULES!!

  22. tom Says:

Duane Dog Chapman violated international law when he went into Mexico. Think of the precedent it sets if he is allowed to go unpunished for his crimes.

  23. Michelle Says:

IDIOTS???? I think it is all of you that are the idiots. Dog and his crew stand for what’s right and help people, and are a true inspiration for many people.
They are also HERO’S for taking that animal off the streets. I could go on all night about the great things they stand for and are all about, but I will leave it at this, The Chapman’s will prevail.

  27. Maria Says:

Poor dog, I hated his show at first, then it kinda
grew on me and I liked it alot . I hated it because he seemed like such a hypocrite to me,
spouting Jesus yet cursing so much. But after
I watched him show compassion and love
to those he caught, my opinion changed.

And really, I have no right to judge him or
anyone else. So I do pray that all goes well
for Dog and his family .

I hope he can look at this as just a test ,
and come out stronger. He has everything he
needs, a wonderful family that loves him and
the love of the Lord. He is a rich man,
and I pray he has a wonderful future.

If anybody came to the US and started arresting or detaining people without authorization, we’d do exactly the same thing. It’s pretty well known — if you go to another country, you’d better follow their laws. You can’t go around playing cop and not expect there to be consequences.

  32. John Coughlan (london uk) Says:

The obvious truth here is that duane(the dog chapman)and his gang did setout to make a name for themselves in catching luster.
Before that they were nobodys at all.

Yes duane does have a past but then if you can never escape your past no matter what good you do,what are we as a society? and what hope is there?.
(being on telly is not all what it seems, you make money yes,but nothing in life is ever easy.
they will need 24/7 protection for themselves and their familys as anyone on tv is a target for wierdos and kidnappers 24/7 52 weeks of the year.

There is a strong element of trailer trash about duane and beth but still i think that makes them all the more human and somehow “real”.
(EVEN BETH HAS A RAP SHEET!).
But still i cant help but like all of them,
they are after all not very serious bounty hunters and hardly ever take anyone extremly dangerous.(luster being the exception)and he was only dangerous to women.)
The other issue is dogs claim to be religeous, well the swearing bit and cursing puts that out the window, its just another scam.
to finish i think i would like to say that duane is just as mixed up now as when he was a little kid!and teenie.
the only difference now is that he has his very successful persona “the dog”to hide behind and an extremly loving and loyal wife whom is extremely capable and media management minded.

  34. John Says:

Those of you that hold it against “DOG” for having a Felony and serving time in prison, are truly the ones that are missing out in life and will never live it to the fullest. You fail to see the good that people hold, and just focus on a negative aspect. He was on the wrong path in his past, but believe it or not people do change, some just need a chance. Those who are showing jealosy of “DOG”, can’t honestly say if they were given the chance to do what he does they wouldnt do it. Yes, he may make some money, but he has rightfully paid his dues and deserves every bit of it. If you don’t think he has paid for the “mistake” that he made in his past then I would say you are the one with the problems. One day you may make a “mistake” and you will see how the ones that treat you like you are human are the ones that you want around you, and “DOG” is one that would treat you like you were human. As far as the Mexico Problems go, that just goes to show you how far behind civilization Mexico really is and is it no wonder why most criminals that are on the run, go for Mexico.

  35. Babydoll Says:

We should remember that nobody and I mean nobody is perfect on this earth. We all make mistakes, but where we go and learn from the mistake makes a better person. I say that the Dog, Beth and crew do a good job. (let me remind you that those who believe everything they see on tv may need to revisit reality) I, being a rape survivor, am grateful that Luster is off the streets. Seeing that this man, the Dog, believes that God is who helps says something about him. If he swears, so what not all christians are perfect. Maybe you need to really look at the leaders in most churches, (the catholics, need I say more). I do hope that his legal problems will come to end. We must remember that the end of days is near and that we will not have to worrying about those doing these things that the Dog, Beth and the crew chose to fight against. May God bless Dog and family.

  36. Babydoll Says:

Oh one last thing and this is about the “12″ year if I ever found out that my son spoke like you or had such a rotten attitude. He would not be able to sit down for a long time. Shame on you. If “kids” like you had respect and manners, maybe there wouldn’t have to be a Dog the bounty hunter.

Dog, is a nothing, but, he is humorus entertainment. In my career I have known many Bounty Hunters and YES, most of them are criminals, most have found out they can get away with brutality and other crimes, legally as bounty hunters. Most people dont understand the rights you give up once you fail to appear when you are out on bond. Dog is no excpetion, He is a convicted felon (which is the reason he never carries a gun) he was honored as a hero for going in to Mexico because we all wanted that piece of scum back here to stand trial but, It was an illegal act he comitted. We yell and get upset over our problems with Mexican citizens comming into the US of A and violating our laws. Yet we can say its ok for Dog to do the same thing in their country.

  39. dont worry about it... Says:

its funny when DOG does something good everyones by his side yet when something bad goes down everyone wants to talk shit about him…give it a rest…i bet you everyone on here doesnt even know him in person just like me and i aint judging him you only see whats on T.V…you aint GOD…and the thing that happened in Mexico, dog did the right thing, he took a sexes preditor of the street…and now he’s a free man,GOD DONT LIKE DIRTY….HE SET DOG AND FAMILY FREE….

I have to say that unlike the other morons here, you decided to make it personal and attack me! That was a bad move on your part. You see, you got my attention now. Dumb move!

Allow me to enlighten you that Duane Chapmaan is an Icon and a Hero!

He beat the Mexican extradition attempt, and justice was served!

New episodes of Dog’s show are being taped as I type this, and the show will be back on TV any time now! And his backstabbing bastard son is back in jail where he belongs!

No matter what happens, Dog will ALWAYS prevail! The good guys CAN and DO win! And Dog is living proof of that!

It sucks to be a hate mongering loser like you, but I guess the people who work at the welfare office would be out of a job if not for uneducated, illiterate imbeciles like you!
