For those of you who are still in the market for a new apartment in town, there is good news.  Pensacola Chelsea Building LLC is building a new condo in the Makiki area on the corner of Pensacola and Kinau streets.  The new condo, called The Chelsea, will be 42 units, five stories high, and containing one and two bedroom units.  One bedrooms start at around 630 sq feet and two bedrooms start at around 952 sq feet.  Many of the rooms also include lanais.

Ammenities include granite countertops, ceramic flooring, washer and dryer, parking for every unit (some including two parking), glass elevator, and maple door cabinets with shaker details.  Prices for the units start at $335,000 to $575,000.

If you are looking to buy a unit, the first 22 units will be sold in a lottery to owner-occupant buyers.  This is also good news for those who want to move in sooner than later, since the condo is expected to finish in the beginning of 2008.  Buildng should start in June of this year.
