For all of you who have eaten at Columbia Inn in Kaimuki, you will have a chance to purchase their inventory tomorrow as they will all be auctioned off due to the sudden closing of the restaurant just a few weeks ago.

The auction will be held at the Columbia Inn location (3221 Wai’alae Ave) with inspection of the products starting at 9am.  There will be many types of merchandise including blenders, mixers, ice machines, booths, freezers, refrigerators, coffee makers, ovens, and fryers.  This is a good chance to purchase industrial equipment at a fraction of the cost.  Everyone is invited, but I’m sure most of it will be bid by restaurant owners.

Columbia Inn has been in operation for over 60 years, and this was the last Columbia Inn chain store to close down.  I went to a few graduation parties at Columbia Inn, which was a good place to have it since there are large rooms that can accomodate many guests as well as their catered food.

Although I didn’t go to Columbia Inn often, I am sad to see it leave.  I have fond memories of that place the times I did go, but there is nothing we can do.  Thank you for the good times Columbia Inn.  You have served the community well.
