A flight from Cincinnati bound for Honolulu made a pitstop in San Francisco yesterday because of an unruly woman. The Delta flight made it past San Francisco but was forced to turn around because a woman had been smoking in the bathroom and had disconnected the smoke alarm.
Witnesses explained that the flight crew caught her smoking in the bathroom, and when the pilot went to talk to her about it, she was screaming at him that she needed to smoke to keep herself from having seizures. The woman was telling the pilot that she didn’t have Vicadin with her, and that if she didn’t have Vicadin, she would go into a seizure, and smoking was another way to keep her from having seizures.
Doctors on board advised the pilot to make the stop in San Francisco so the woman could receive medical attention. The FBI were called to come and detain her, just in case anything else happened. Witnesses did say the woman was not threatening in any way. Authorities could still charge her for interferring with the flight.
The flight continued to Hawaii after the ordeal.
