Don Ho Dies at 76

This past Saturday, legendary Don Ho died of apparent heart failure at the age of 76.  As some of you know, Don Ho went to Thailand to get stem cell treatment that looked promising at first, but apparently it did not do much help.

For those of you who want to bid Don Ho a final aloha, his funeral and tribute will be held at Queen’s Surf Beach in Waikiki on May 5, and open to the public.  Don’s ashes will be carried out in a flotilla of canoes and scattered offshore.

Make sure you head out there early, and if you are just driving by, make sure you plan an alternative route because it is guaranteed to be packed.  With Queen’s Surf Beach known to hold 10,000 people, and with Don Ho’s popularity around the world, there will be a lot of people.

May we send our prayers to Don’s family.
