Update of Don Ho’s Memorial Service

According to the Honolulu Advertiser, Don Ho’s memorial service that will held on May 5 will draw about 25,000 people, compared to the estimated 10,000 people that they expected.  This is due to the time change in the memorial service, with the service shifting from the morning to the afternoon and evening.  This will allow more people to make the service, but as you can see, it can definitely cause some problems especially with traffic in the area.

If you do want to go and pay respects to Don, his ashes is scheduled to be scattered at 4:30pm on May 5 off Waikiki shores in front of the Royal Hawaiian hotel.  Entertainment will be from 6-8pm at the Sunset on the Beach location (right across the zoo).

Entertainers will include Keali’iwahamana, Melveen Leed, Willie K, the Brothers Cazimero, Society of Seven Las Vegas, Marlene Sai, Iva Kinimaka, Jimmy Borges and Matt Catingub.  Robin Wilson will be performing “I’ll Remember You” and Hoku, Don’s daughter, will also be performing a few songs.  Keith Haugen will be there to lead a group singing “Hawai’i Pono’i” (source: Honolulu Advertiser).

Make sure you make it down on May 5 and pay respect to Hawaii’s very own.

Condolences to the Ho Ohana… Although names of top Hawaiian Entertainers will be featured at Don’s Memorial Service. Is there any reason why the former Aliis are not part of the Celebration commorating Don’s life?

Aloha and God bless the Ho Ohana…

A loss for Hawaiians and the world. I wish I could have attended to show my deep respect for Don Ho. I could only imagine Robin Wilson’s song and the deep memaning of ‘I’ll Remember You’

I met her in L.A. many years ago. I’d loved to see her again.

Thank you for this opportunity to say a few words.
