This is just getting ridiculous folks. As if stealing garage door openers wasn’t enough, now thieves are targeting churches and stealing people’s personal belongings while the church-goers are sitting in service. SERIOUSLY?! A church is a place where people come to find themselves, learn about God, and is usually a place of trust. And to have that violated by thieves just sickens me.
According to the Honolulu Advertiser, this recent string of thefts have been happening since early February of this year through late March. Not only are personal belongings stolen, but many of the victims have also been the target of identity theft.
The suspect seems to be a woman in her 20s, who usually starts up a conversation with people, and when left alone, proceeds to steal purses and other belongings. In fact, belongings have been stolen while victims are taking communion, talking in hospitality rooms, and during funerals. This is truly sickening. I just can’t imagine anyone doing such a thing, especially at such a sacred place like a church.
I sincerely hope these thieves get caught and serve their appropriate time in jail. Really, this is just getting out of hand.
