Going to work usually involves driving down Kapiolani Blvd in the morning. As if traffic isn’t enough to thoroughly irritate me, I am disgusted by the way the trees aren’t upkept along the entire street. Have you also noticed how they never clean up the dead foilage that comes from these trees? And what’s worse is how branches, even relatively LARGE branches are on the ground. I am always scared to drive on Kapiolani and have one of those large thick branches just drop onto my car and dent it. In fact, just this past week, as I was riding with my girlfriend to work, we were interrupted by a LOUD HARD thump as something from the trees fell onto her windshield then bounced onto the roof of her car and finally rolled off the back trunk. I guess my fear finally came true, and sadly, it had to be her car.
This is what I’m talking about. Kapiolani Blvd. is just completely neglected. Not only are the roads completely hashed and in dire need of repaving, but those trees are just darn irritating. They definitely need to trim those trees, which will not only make the streets cleaner, but will also prevent potential accident causing incidents and damage to your car. Somehow the city is neglecting one of the most used and busiest roads in town, making it look like crap. Don’t even get me started with Ala Moana Blvd…that’s a whole other article.
So please, if you are with the city, can you clean up your act? Please pave those roads and trim those trees. It’ll make a lot of drivers feel safer, and the road would look so much cleaner.

Somehow parts of Ala Moana Blvd. were fixed overnight, but with concrete not with asphalt. Most of steel plates were gone. Was the city afraid of our comments, so they were looking for a quick solution? Who knows….
