Unfortunately there is a “next” to my previous post, and this time it is a big guy.  TGI Friday announced that they are closing the Waikiki location after they announced the closure of the Ward location previously.  They have been around for 26 years, but it is time to say good-bye by the end of next week…  To be honest, I am not really a big fan of TGIF, but it is sad to see another local business close their door on Oahu.  I am also feel terrible for their employees who will be unemployed soon…  It seems that high-end businesses are booming, and middle-class or local businesses keep going out of business on Oahu recently. 

Governor Lingle is traveling to Indonesia and Japan right now promoting the tourism business of Hawaii, but isn’t it time to pay attention to what’s going on in our backyard?  One more business down, one more loss for us locals.
