I totally agree with you Fernie. Joe Logan was basically an ass. Pat, you are absolutely correct in pointing out the commercialism and unfair promotion of certain fighters by UFC. We have seen those with Rich Franklin, Tim Sylvia, most definitely and obviously with Matt Hughes. Matt Hughes should fight St. Pierre first before he gets another title shot. But of course, being Dana White’s poster child, Matt Hughes gets a title shot right away against Matt Serra. I have also been totally disgusted by how little Dana White pays his fighters, as low as $2000 per fight! It costs way more than that even to set up a camp before that. If I were the president of UFC, the lowest pay I would give a fighter would be $20,000. Just look at the profit UFC is making from each Pay-Per-View event and sponsors. Fighters basically put their lives on the line to entertain us, so they rightfully deserve more. And Dana White can definitely afford to do so. Lastly, Manny is a beast, and I will look forward to watching more fights of his in the near future. I am not sure exactly what happened Joe Lauzon in his semi-final against Manny (he seemed to be unmotivated for some reason), but he definitely is one of the best who came out of that show. I wonder if Dana White somehow influenced Joe to lose to get Nate-Manny final, so he can promote Nick-Karo fight in the future….hhhmmmm.

BJ Penn is my favourite fighter. After he lost to Hughes, I was devasted. He should have beat hughes in the first round but BJ’s unperfected conditioning caught up to him in the 2nd against Hughes. BJ looked in top form last night and if he can keep up this conditioning and new diet he has, I can’t wait to see him get the well deserved crown, and who knows, maybe he own two different weight class crowns at once (155 and 170). UFC is starting to show signs of being over commercialized and is showing too much politics. Fighting is all about the best man winning, and respecting the winner. What the hell was with the Gray Maynard and Emerson fight. Emerson should never be allowed to fight in the UFC again especially after loosing the last three fights I’ve seen him in and honestly I don’t like him. Gray Maynard deserved the victory but it looks like strings are being pulled for Emerson wherever he goes for some reason (Being “brought back” as a fighter in Season 5 ultimate Fighter, and now having a no contest bought where he was obliterated by Maynard). I hope these sentiments can some how make it to Dana White and they soon realize we want to see real fighters like Pen . How unfortunate what happened to Matty last night. He would have won the fight definitely if his shoulder didn’t give. Diaz was very lucky as of late, after winning the semi finals against Lauzon and now the finals againt Matty where I think the decision should have gone the other way in both contests. Luzon is the best fighter out of UFC 5 in my opinion.

Penn definitely toyed with Pulver. He had the fight won when he had the arm bar. He let it go and proceeed to mount Pulver at will and pass on chokes to inflict little more pain. BJ said that he would break Pulver’s left arm. He didn’t do it, but Pulver knew he could have. And that is what matters.

I really thought that BJ had Jens twice, one with the arm bar and the other, the triangle choke, before he submitted him with the rear naked choke.
About Joe Rogan, you are right. Not only did he ignore what BJ was doing to Jens (teaching him a lesson), but showed a total disrespect by giving the first interview to Jens instead of the customary one, to the winner, who is BJ. BJ should have just left and totally ignore Joe Rogan. BJ doesn’t need Rogan anyway. I don’t. I watch the fighters and care less about the commentators.
Being a commentator, Rogan should be more professional and set aside his personal liking and preference.
