If you love the sound of “jumping fleas”, go to the Kapiolani Park next Sunday, July 22nd for the 37th Annual Ukulele Festival Hawaii presented by Roy and Kathy Sakuma. He runs a number of Ukulele studios around Oahu and has been sponsoring the Ukulele Festival since 1971. This is the biggest Ukulele festival in the world in case you didn’t know. It is schedule to start at 9:30 am and will go on until 1:30 pm.
There will be Ukulele performers from not only Hawaii but also from Guam, California, Japan, and even Lodon. The major performers include Ohta-San, Jake Shimabukuro, Manoa DNA, Holunape, etc. There will also be food booths, Ukulele displays, and you can even enter to win Ukuleles. If you get there early enough, you can probably find a parking near the park or at the zoo. If you don’t want to drive around looking for a parking space, just park your car at the Kapiolani Community College and take the free shuttles to the park.
Oh, by the way, did I mention that the show is free? ![]()
