Have you been waiting for a locker space for your board at Kuhio Beach? Were you considering getting a locker, but people told you that it would take your lifetime to get one, literally? Rejoice all surfers; now it’s your time to get one of those precious 601 surfboard lockers.
In case you didn’t know, the city changed the rules for the surfboard locker rental space on March 1st this year. The city finally instituted term limits on rental agreements and raised the montly rental to $25 from $10. We all know that some people were holding on to their rental space and illegally renting it out to somone else to make money. If the city can crack down on that, it would be even more pleasant experience at the surfboard lockers.
The wait list used to close to 700 people long, but now there are ONLY 165 people on the wait list. The city expects that more lockers will free up as they continue to implent the new rules.
So if you want to get yourself on the wait list for a locker space, the time is now!
