We were craving for sushi one day, so we decided to drop by Ninja Sushi near Nimitz on 550 Paiea St. It’s basically a upscale takeout sushi restaurant that provies temakis, nigiris, and sushi rolls. Not many takeout sushi restaurants like Kozo Sushi and Aloha Sushi provide the amount of variety that Ninja Sushi does.
The interior was very nice, but only had about around 7 tables that seats from 2 to 4 people each. We were greeted with a pretty long line, but it was expected since we arrived around 12:15pm. Surprisingly, our order didn’t take as long as we thought with such a long line. Not only were the people nice, but the food came very prompt.
We ended up ordering a Lion Maki, Tiger Maki, and salmon nigiri. The Lion Maki was basically a California Roll with salmon layered on top, with sprinklings of crispy potato strings, green onion, and drizzled with sweet chili sauce. The Tiger Maki was a roll with tempura shrimp, imitation crab, and layered with ahi on top, with sprinklings of crispy potato strings, green onion, and sweet chili sauce. The salmon nigiri consisted of 3 pieces with fresher servings of salmon than comparable sushi takeout restaurants. The Lion Maki was $6.99, the Tiger maki was $7.49, and the salmon nigiri was $2.99. What a bargain!
They also gave us generous portions of wasabi, ginger, and shoyu. They don’t skimp here. No wonder their line was so long. Try it out! They also have locations downtown on Bishop St., Millilani, and Pearl City.

Ninja sushi is just satisfactory. It is does not have “Top Quality” fish that other sushi restaurants have and use. Their fish is ground up and doesnt leave any texture in the mouth, but all in all the flavor is good.
