Hawaii Footbal Ranked 20 in AP After Week One

The University of Hawaii Football team had a decisive victory this weekend over Northern Colorado putting up 63 points while allowing only 6. They came into the game ranked 23rd in the AP pre-season poll, the first time the UH Warriors have received a pre-season ranking ever.

Well after that week one victory where Colt Brennan boosted himself to lead the nation in passing, Warrior Football now sits at number 20 overall in the AP. This is a big accomplishment for the Warriors who are in a a commonly thought of as lesser league, the WAC, that the usually big time SEC, PAC-10 and Big Ten.

However, the tides seem to be changing in college football. With Boise State’s (also WAC) win in their bowl last year to Appalachain State’s history making win over Michigan this weekend, the nation is seeing that you don’t necessarily have to be a big money school to get talent.

The Warriors return to the field this Saturday where they’ll face Louisiana Tech on the road.
