Mama32,
This will be my last post. I am devoting the time I have spent on these comments to focus on getting Dog back on the air. It has been good talking with you. Hopefully, we will both have more positive experiences in the future with regards to equality. In the words of a famous character I used to watch: "Live long and proser"

Mama32,
You are correct in that I don't share a brotherhood with the friends I have of different colors. Never said I did. My argument was simply that based on what I have seen, the black people who are willing to try to be equals seem to have more opportunites (higher paying positions, more friends, etc) than those who play the race card. The people I was talking about in my previous posts are the ones who seem to want to draw attention to the fact that they are black. Kind of a "Do you know what color I am" attitude. These seem to be the people that do not obtain the high positions, etc. I must be honest. If I hear "Didn't get it because I'm black" any more I'm probably going to scream. This has become a crutch for a lot of black people. Somebody had told them something similar at one time and it has become their out for everything. I am not saying all black people are like this. That just appears to be the attitude of most of the black people I know or have known. I would have no issues whatsoever with having dinner with a black person or an asian person or any person as long as that person was a decent person and didn't scream racism at the drop of a hat. I also do not associate with white peope who would be considered trash. Like I said earlier, character is how I judge people. As far as donating, I must admit that I don't donate to much. I came from a poor area and while I wasn't the poorest kid at school, I was near the bottom. I managed to overcome this and have done OK for myself as I feel anybody can. I will agree that in some areas of the country black people may have more obstacles to overcome, but in my experience, the more obstacles I had to overcome, the more determined and stronger it made me. It sounds like you have done OK for youself as well. My bottom line is this, anyone can do anything they want to in this country. I had many obstacle to overcome because of my background (always put down at school, worked 2 jobs to pay for college, etc). but I was determined not to let obstacles stop me. Eveyone needs to stop whining about the situation they are in and go change it.

Have you ever heard the saying, "It's better to observe a situation when you are not involved in the situation?" In other words it's better to judge a situation when you are not emotionally attached to the outcome. I am not surprise that you feel blacks play the race card. Why? Because you are not black. Just like I can see where my opportunities are limited because I am. That's like me saying Athletes are being over paid when I don't have the slightest idea about what it takes to train, prepare or even play a professional sport. How can someone put value or opinion on someone's eles's +struggle without sharing the experience themselves. I believe if you were married or dating a black woman and if you truly were in love with her....if you even hear of someone offending her you would also be quick to defend her if she had been hurt. Just because when you care about someone you don't want to see them hurt no matter if they are right or wrong. You have several rapist, murderers, etc.. in our prisons today that have pleaded guilty and their mother's still love them and some in their innocense. And then you may ask, "How could you love someone that has done so many terrible things?" I believe their answer would be...because he's my son no matter what. That's kind of how I believe nonwhites are when it comes to being truly honest about the race problem in the U.S. You know when you are sitting at your dinner tables and that "n*gger" joke was told-you laughed. Why? Because it was funny. Despite the knowing that it would offend blacks. But, hell nobody's there so it's okay. Equally, if one of your family members were caught saying the joke in public and were called a racist-it is a natural instinct for you to defend and protect them. And even speak on their behalf and say, "He's not a racist because he told a joke." Just because you are blessed to have friends of different colors doesn't mean that you share a brotherhood with them. When was the last time you ate dinner with your "black friends/co-workers?" When was the last time you donated any money to any inner city, poverty stricken neighborhoods. Be honest. Now, I have a family of blacks, whites, hispanic, and even indian. I have more non black friends than I do black friends. I purposely seek out schools for my sons that are integrated. I am sure there are a lot of great (black) schools but I don't want them to have one perspective of life but many. So the day someone approaches them and say..."How could you speak on this matter about such & such..." He would be able to say, I may not be white, hispanic, asian, etc....but my best friend is...my neighbor is.....or even my wife is....so I may not share your struggles but I can share your story.

Mama32,
Good morning. I agree with a lot of what you are saying. A lot of our opinions are based on our own experiences. Like yourself, I can not speak for everyone, only what I have seen. Please understand that my comments are not directed toward the entire black society. There are good people and bad people in all races. I just happen to have seen a lot of racism toward the white society, while you have seen the reverse. I have seen the racism card attempted 90% of the time a black person I am with does not get the best service in a restaurant or is turned down for a job. I feel I should state that I do have black friends. Some of my best co-workers are black people. There are some black co-workers that I do not like. There are also some white co-workers I do not like. The black people that I do like are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. My experience has been that the black people who are striving for true equality and do not try to use the racism bit to get they want are good people and seem to get further than the ones who scream racism all the time. They are also better liked among all their peers (white, black, etc.) I personally do not look at a person's skin color. I judge the person based on their actions, abilities, etc. and quite honestly it get me hot under the coller when someone screams racism if they do not get what they want instead of accepting that the other person was better qualified or that service in that particular restaurant was bad for everyone. This applies to all races, but I personally have seen the racism card played by more blacks. America still has a long way to go. I strongly agree that we need to focus on other issues like the war and people starving in the streets. When isssues like these become the priority, then maybe we can achieve true equality. From your comments, you seem like an intelligent, level headed person and I look forward to your reply.

Dear Vince~
Although I respect your opinions I do believe that I have been mis quoted. I did not once say that racism or reversed racism is not present in many situations. For me to stand by that fact would be an utter contradiction. I'm not sure what part of the south you are from where and I can't speak about black people as a whole because I am only qualified and educated to speak first from my own experiences. First, as a educated black female in an highly professional setting, I can say that I have been told my my white peers/co-workers that I have been passed up for many positions because I do not have the "complexion protection." I have been in my work place for over 10 years and I currently hold 2 Masters but I have seen little girls coming out of USC with little to no work experience become my supervisor with only a Bachelor's degree. I seek equality everyday. I have a half white grandmother and white great-grandfather who has been disowned by family members because the chose to marry outside of their races. I am a active volunteer in many organizations and we (both white and blacks) have agreed that the priviliges for nonwhites and whites are indeed DIFFERENT. So to say that we or myself aren't fighting for equality is only an oversight, I am sure. And as far as having "White Entertainment." Let's see....we have CBS..ABC...etc..that have starred and feature white sitcoms for decades. Not to mention that it wasn't that long ago that blacks when casted for a role where only given parts of Mammies and Maids. And the aged old "Black Faced" ironies featured on many networks have proven that blacks or any other races had very stero-typed roles in Movies, film and television. Most of the major professional athletic teams are owned by who???? You know the answer. And although you have films that feature all Black cast members and writers such as "The Color Purple" but who produced or directed this film? Steven S. And the white college funds...I'm sorry I have to laugh...when is the last time you have seen any major colleges (Harvard, NYU, etc..) sending recrutes out to low-income, poverty stricken neighborhoods offering non-blacks scholarships? I put myself through college, I too did not qualify for any negro college funds. And if you check your facts, these programs are not designed for just blacks it was merely founded by them. It is designed for anyone of "color" (hispanics, indians, etc) that were not fortunate enough to have someone send them to college. If you do not think that there are not college funds geared toward white students then I earge you go to your nearest library or even the internet and do your research. I challenge you to find 10 schools that are recruiting any poor little black, hispanic kids. And...my husband who is hispanic did recieve a scholarship from the United Negro Funds to complete his studies at NYU.I have never tried to be superior to anyone besides myself. I have tried to compete in a world that judges me on a fact that I can't change nor do anything about...my skin color. And as far as all these opporunities...if you know of any fortune 500 companies looking for a black woman with a paletha of degrees please call me. Cause my resume has been on blast for over 10 years. like I said before....there is indeed reverse racism. I am not ignorant to that fact. Dog should not be anymore condemned than any other person ( I have stated that previously). I personally think this issue has gotten way out of hand. We should be focusing on more important issues like the next election-perhaps? Or maybe the fact that rape crimes have tripled in last 5 years? I don't know-you be the judge.

And although you have films that feature all Black cast members and writers such as “The Color Purple” but who produced or directed this film? Steven S. And the white college funds…I’m sorry I have to laugh…when is the last time you have seen any major colleges (Harvard, NYU, etc..) sending recrutes out to low-income, poverty stricken neighborhoods offering non-blacks scholarships? I put myself through college, I too did not qualify for any negro college funds. And if you check your facts, these programs are not designed for just blacks it was merely founded by them. It is designed for anyone of “color” (hispanics, indians, etc) that were not fortunate enough to have someone send them to college. If you do not think that there are not college funds geared toward white students then I earge you go to your nearest library or even the internet and do your research. I challenge you to find 10 schools that are recruiting any poor little black, hispanic kids. And…my husband who is hispanic did recieve a scholarship from the United Negro Funds to complete his studies at NYU.I have never tried to be superior to anyone besides myself. I have tried to compete in a world that judges me on a fact that I can’t change nor do anything about…my skin color. And as far as all these opporunities…if you know of any fortune 500 companies looking for a black woman with a paletha of degrees please call me. Cause my resume has been on blast for over 10 years. like I said before….there is indeed reverse racism. I don’t know-you be the judge.
