Did you know that Walgreens was open yesterday AND today?  Yups, the workers at Walgreens were open on both Christmas eve and Christmas day to satisfy shoppers.  But what kind of shoppers?  Last minute ones.  If you didn’t finish your Christmas shopping, or if you needed to pick up something last minute for a party, you can just head down to Walgreens on Kapiolani for all your needs.

That kind of sucks for the employees though who have to work day and night, and wouldn’t have time to spend with their families during the Christmas season.  Then again, some people want to work on the holidays because they get paid a time and a half.  I know my friend who works as a nurse and he worked through Thanksgiving so that he could get paid more.

In addition, when I drove down to Hawaii Kai around 6pm, I noticed a lot of cars parked by Blockbuster in Koko Marina.  Turns out, the Chinese restaurant there was open for dinner.  I was shocked at first, then realized that MOST Chinese restaurants are open on the holidays…they usually like to make money at any time they can.
