It’s the first tournament back in the new year for the PGA tour and it starts on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Previously known as the Mercedes Championship the title sponsor has since changed to SBS. The tournament is played at Kapalua courses and is looking to be a great field as the contestants play in paradise.
Defending champion Geoff Ogilvy returns and is slated as the top contender while Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson all declined invitations. Also in the lineup are Steve Stricker, Ryan Moore, and Zach Johnson. All will look to dethrone Ogilvy in this new year and start the FedEx standings out strong.
The tournament will go from Thursday to Sunday, as usual, dates January 7th through the 10th. The winner of the tournament will get $1.2 million while the rest of the field will have to split the remaining $4 million. Not a bad chunk of change as last place gets $70,000.
The full tournament includes only 28 people. You can check Kapalua’s SBS site.
We’ll keep you updated here with results and tournament information as it becomes available.

Elin should dump Tiger, and let him join Amway, along with his “girlfriends”, as Amway also screws anything that moves. Amway is a scam, and here’s why: Amway pays out as little money as they can get away with, so they support the higher level IBOs ripping off their downline via the tool scam.
As a result, about 99% of IBOs operate at a net loss, while the top 1% make several TIMES more from their Amway tool scam than from the Amway products.
Read about it on my blog, I suggest you start here: http://tiny.cc/D5oJh and forward the information to everyone you know, so they don’t get scammed.
