Maui Revealed Guidebook Review

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the Revealed series of guidebooks is a must have for anyone planning a vacation to the Hawaiian Islands.  Maui Revealed: The Ultimate Guidebook provides the best insight into getting the most out of your vacation to the garden isle of Maui.  We’ve used it on numerous outer island jaunts to Maui and were always glad we packed it.

From the road to Hana, to whale watching, to Haleakala, to sitting on the beach along the Kaanapali coast, Maui Revealed is the guidebook for you.  We’ve said it about the Kauai guidebook as well as the Oahu guidebook, this series is written by people who live in the islands and truly want to share the sights that are off the beaten path with visitors.

One of the biggest things that the Maui Revealed book does that others don’t, is focus on things to do that don’t require you to break the bank.  Maui is expensive, but it doesn’t have to be, from places to stay to places to see, this book has it.

Maui is truly the garden isle, and the best way to experience it is to visit the garden, the lush garden jungle all around you.  The best part is all that jungle has some of the best waterfalls around.  We were able to hop in a car and just drive.  There are many many waterfalls to see, especially on the hana highway.

The road to hana is a switchback nightmare and you wouldn’t know half of the waterfalls existed if you didn’t have this guidebook.  There must be twenty along the road and they’re all over the place.  You’ll need to not only the mile marker but also the many rocks, trees, and random landmarks that Maui Revealed shows you.

Next, the beaches.  There’s a lot of beaches on Maui and a lot of beaches that every other guidebook knows of.  The ones you want to visit are the ones that aren’t in those books.  This guidebook takes you to the ones that are a little less known and a little more Hawaii.

Of course, there’s the real gems that lay around every corner on Maui.  A standard in the revealed series of guidebooks, “real gems” will take you to places that other guidebooks don’t know of and that you don’t want to miss.  Places like Wailea Beach, a great swaft of sand that you won’t want to miss.

Places to stay, places to eat, all of which range from expensive to cheap.  The cheap ones are usually the best and usually left out of other types of guidebooks.  Yet another thing that makes the revealed series of guidebooks that much better.

Don’t vacation without it.
