Round 4 of the Billabong Pro JBay 2010 in Jefferys Bay, South Africa has had some amazing surf for the 5th stop on the ASP World Tour event schedule. So far only 2 Hawaii surfers remain, Andy Irons and Dusty Payne. Payne who made it through round 2 and 3 struggles in round 4 while Andy Irons battles.
Irons was up first against Sean Holmes of South Africa and neither contestant wasted any time getting things going with Holmes scoring early followed by Andy Irons. In the end, it was a mere 43 hundredths of a point that separated the two but it would be the end of JBay 2010 for Irons.
After watching Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow, and Dane Reynolds post huge scores in their respective heats, Dusty Payne would have to watch Adam Melling of Australia post a 17.07 in their heat. That score proved to be just too much for Payne who was eliminated from competition.
The quarter finals was also run and once again, Jordy Smith had one of the higher combine heat scores with Bede Durbidge, Taj Burrow and Adam Melling all advancing to the semi-finals as well. A semi finals that was run as well as the surf kept rolling in.
Advancing through to the finals and making his run at the ASP world tour lead in points was Jordy Smith who will face Adam Melling in the finals.
