After experiencing the thrill of WWE 2010 Raw World Tour in Hawaii chill out with cool ballet at The Kennedy Theatre at The University of Hawai’i on Saturday August 22nd 2010 at 9PM or at a special matinee Sunday August 22nd 2010 at 2PM. A Medley of American Dance celebrates the music of George Gershwin with “By George, a witty and whimsical backstage view of a Broadway-style musical, complete with off-stage flirtations and comical misunderstandings.
Choreographer Tom Pazik injects the ballet with an ingenious sense of humor, letting the audience in on various sight gags and missed cues. Set entirely to the hits of George Gershwin, the ballet was designed to recall a simpler time, when larger-than-life musical productions were the order of the day.”
Enjoy A Medley of American Dance while you experience a “Serenade” set to the music of Tchaikovsky, this was the original ballet that George Balanchine created in America, a delightful piece that began as a lesson in stage technique and has become a beloved ballet for performers and audiences alike.
Rounding out the evening’s entertainment is an energetic routine, “Trio,” set to the music of Bach, playfully choreographed by Tom Pazik, a dynamic piece for a trio of talented dancers.
