Hawaii Five-0 Episode 5: Nalowale Recap

McGarrett Romance Catherine Hawaii Five-0Well, this episode doesn’t have Kono (Grace Park) coming out of the water in a Bikini with a surfboard… again… but it does have some great opening beach scenes.  Thank you surfer girl paddling out.  As for action, well it has that too.

This is fast becoming an infamous Hawaii Five-0 episode on the web where the classic character of Steve McGarrett actually shows a softer side, not a war torn stiff in charge of the crew dude all the time.  Instead, he takes on a love interest, which makes for some interest lines, and some romance scenes on the beach.

But enough about that for now, back to the other action.  The episode takes the Hawaii Five-0 crew all over the Waikiki scene after the daughter of a U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines is found dead “under Waikiki Bay.”

Now whether it’s officially called Wakiki Bay or not, you won’t hear anyone we know calling it that.  But hey, this is television and people know Waikiki.

Masi Oka Hawaii Five-0Anyway, there’s some great lines in this episode like when McGarrett and Danno nab this creeper at a Waikiki club while he’s slipping a rufi into a drink of some innocent chick.  McGarrett, being the tough guy, shove the drink down his throat.  They then proceed to take him in for questioning and the back and forth of Caan and O’Loughlin is actually quite amusing.

Another great line from the show is when McGarrett’s sister runs into McGarrett’s new fling in the hallway of his place, both of them looking to be just in nightshirts.  The fling, Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth) appologizes and explains herself to Mary Ann (Taryn Manning) and then.

Mary Ann:  “Old House, thin walls.”
Catherine: “Oh, God!”
Mary Ann:  “Yeah, you said that a lot last night.”

He he, funny stuff that sexual humor.  Anyway, Masi Oka, the Hero’s dude, again is in the show, looks like he’s going to be the regular coroner.  Fun times.

Lastly, some odd scene with McGarrett’s sister discovering something about their Dad’s death?  Not sure what that was all about, but an interesting twist in the show.
