It looks like things are still on schedule for the opening of the newest and most talked about resort in Hawaii to open. Not even the Trump Waikiki got this much fan fare. Maybe it’s because the following of Disney is a little louder than the more reserved Trump folk.
Either way, the Aulani Disney Resort which is being built on the Ko’Olina grounds is making quite a splash with those in the islands and around the world. There has already been a wave of hiring around the islands and hopefully will help keep the already low unemployment rate even lower.
The resort has all the amenities and more that you could ever want in a Disney resort, and even better, it’s here in Hawaii, so you know you’ll see Mickey and Minnie in a grass skirt or two. And hopefully Donald with those bloomers.
The resort facts are vast, too vast to list here, if you want more info check out the facts page. But here’s a quick glimpse.
* 21 acres
* 460 Disney Vacation Club Villas, including 21 Grand Villas
* 359 hotel rooms, including 16 suites
* 4 restaurants
* 2 lounges
* 10 recreation facilities (see below)
* 18,000-square-foot spa with 15 treatment rooms and fitness center
* 4 whirlpool spas
* 14,545-square-foot conference center
* 36,695 square feet of outdoor venues
* Storytelling fire pit
We couldn’t 3 pools and a stream that will connect them. And best yet, it has all the access you could want to the Ko’Olina lagoons, a very hot commodity and a great place for families to safely enjoy the ocean.
And for you fathers needing to get away, check out the Ko’Olina Golf Course. It’s breathtaking views, and difficult holes will keep your mind off the hectic Disney family time.
We’ll have more to come and for sure some photo galleries.

I just came back to the mainland from the resort next door, the JD Mariott and the Disney resort looks spectacular. There are four lagoons all right there. I will be back and I will stay at Disney. Oh and I like the canoe look for the buildings
