Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours: “Ride of a Lifetime”

If you want to explore the magnificent peaks of the Hawaiian Islands, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters can take you there and show you places that are “More than breath taking!” On a recent trip to Kauai, my parents decided to fly Blue Hawaiian. The price is competitive with the other companies out there. You can find deals for around $210 per person.

Here’s a review from my mom, “The main highlight was when we were inside Mt. Wai’ale’ale crater. The sheer beauty of it was MORE THAN BREATH TAKING! The WATERFALLS were the epitome of the tour, and I thought nothing could beat Yosemite National Park!” With 3,000 foot waterfalls cascading down the canyon it’s not hard to understand why it was the most beautiful scenery she had ever witnessed.

Mt. Wai’ale’ale is the highest peak on Kauai and is also the wettest spot on earth. The tour also flies over the Na Pali coastline, which offers some more spectacular viewing and most likely great whale watching in the winter time. “ Seeing the whole island from above was awesome,” she said. “It’s a great way to orient yourself to the island, see what’s out there, and get a mental picture of its magnificence.”

Their pilot, Kevin, was very knowledgeable. He informed them about where things were, who owns most of the land, and info about the other islands. They opted to get the DVD for an extra $25, which includes nearly all of the amazing footage from the 50 minute flight. They did a great job with the video. For those of you who want to get photo happy on the tour, my mom recommends not wearing light colored clothing as it reflects off the windows in pictures. Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours can be found on all of the main Hawaiian Islands. They will take you to the pristine places and as my dad describes it, ”The land without people.”
