A Walk Through The Waipa Farmers Market in Hanalei, Kauai

Looking for some fresh produce on the North Shore of Kauai? Check out the Waipa Farmers Market which is nestled in the beautiful Waipa Ahupuaa in Hanalei, Kauai. It’s a unique market with a wide variety of organic veggies, fruits, flowers, and some homemade goods. Non-food items such as handmade jewelry made out of materials from nature, organic soaps by Luckcherry Suds, and hand painted sarongs are occasionally on offer.

The market is sponsored by the Waipa Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the land and finding more sustainable ways to practice agriculture. Visiting it is not a usual tourist activity but one that will give your family a deeper understanding and appreciation of Kauai.

The market is open every Tuesday starting at 2pm. Customers for the market should turn into the unpaved driveway, just on the Hanalei side of the paved driveway, and park where you are directed. (Tuesday afternoons, the paved driveway is for vendors only.) For directions click here.
