The book about Kauai helped us navigate country roads to find some out of the way waterfalls that they don't tell you about at the hotel information stands. It was pouring rain outside and we were in a 2 door compact rental car not having a clue as to where we were headed. The book took us from the main road back around some twisty turns, past some farm fields, right to a cattle gate. We parked on the side of the road (where it said), and followed the overgrown path about a half mile through a sugar cane field. The end of the path was a gorgeous waterfall where we were the only ones enjoying it.
