Cisco's Cantina - February 5th, 2006
After an afternoon of golfing at the Pali Golf Courscoe on Oahu, Hawaii we decided to head into Kailua on the windward side
of the island. We were both hungry and needed a place to remedy that. I remembered being taken to this little hole in the wall Mexican
restaurant somewhere in downtown Kailua. I remembered there being a Foodland and what seemed like a fairly industrial portion, kind of
irregular on that side of the island. So we drove around a bit and low and behold I recognized a street that looked for familiar and
there it was
Well there wasn't the Thong Song playing in the background, but there was some great food, and being that it was Super Bowl Sunday, we were the only ones in the Cantina. We ordered up some large Margaritta's Kimberly got a mango margaritta that was delicious, and I a regular, plus 2 burrito's. Total bill was only $35 with tip. Not a bad little place if you are looking for a quick bite to eat on the windward side of Oahu.

Duke's Waikiki Brunch By the Ocean- January 2nd, 2006
Kimberly and I arrived back in Honolulu from visiting family in Wisconsin on for a week and were exhausted (this was on the 1st of the year.) Monday morning we woke up to gorgeous weather and decided to have breakfast out. Kimberly had never been to Duke's Waikiki for breakfast so that was our choice. You can get to Duke's right a Kalakawa, the main drag in Waikiki. It is in the Outrigger hotel, the main one, right next to the Sheritan Waikiki. Go in through the main lobby next to the underground valet parking structure, or down the corridor right next to The Honolulu Surf Company. Note that it is also one the ocean side (makai side) of the road. Go all the way back and you will begin to see the little grass huts outlining the Hostest Stand.Their morning brunch is $12.95 for an all you can eat buffet with a cook'em in front of you omlete maker, a tropical fruit bar, hams, breads, cheeses, rice, gravy, waffles, eggs, etc etc. You'll be stuffed. Get some guava juice, pull up a table over looking the ocean and enjoy. The wait isn't too long, I've been twice and haven't waited more than 10 minutes each time (once by myself though). While you wait enjoy the ocean and some complimentary coffee. There's usually a newspaper or two laying around so check the surf report (page two most of the time), and get your tummy ready. In waikiki this is probably the best place to get some breakfast.
