Tuesday, August 10th, 2010
Two of the biggest names in Motown will be blazing a trail through the Hawai’i’an Islands August 2010, setting down at three exciting venues on O’ahu, The Big Island, and Maui. Give in to The Temptations with their hits “Just My Imagination,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Papa was a Rolling Stone” “Masterpiece,” “You’re My Everything,” and naturally “My Girl.” A legendary forty year career has not diminished the enthusiasm or energy Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Joe Herndon, and Bruce Williamson bring to the music they so clearly love.
The Four Tops (Adbul “Duke” Fakir, Theo Peoples, Ronnie McNier, and Rokie Payton.) are equally enthusiastic but perhaps a bit more playful, their call & response style of singing has rarely been duplicated and their simple rhymes are fun & catchy without ever being dull & cliché, among their songs many in the audience keep in their hearts, I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” “It’s The Same Old Song,” “Baby, I Need Your Loving,” “Ain’t No Woman Like The One I Got,” “Standing In the Shadows of Love,” and “Reach Out, I’ll Be There.” Both of these bands share the most seductive voices in music and are great date concerts, after a night of listening to The Temptations and The Four Tops you and your partner (s) will be in the mood for love.
