Walt Disney to Open Resort on Oahu
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007Walt Disney has made plans and says it will be opening an 800 room resort in Ko Olina on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
The Disney resort will be a mixed hotel room and timeshare complex. The company says it has plans to hire 1000 workers and build the hotel on 21 acres that it hasn’t yet purchased.
The Disney resort is scheduled to open in four years, 2011. Final plans for the project, which are going to incorporate Hawaiian culture, are expected to be done at the end of next year.
It’s great that there’s more jobs on the island but does Oahu really need another 800 rooms? Yikes.
