Colt Brennan Could Sit vs Charleston Southern

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

An unusual site for the UH Warrior football team and fans this week is star quarterback and Heisman hopeful Colt Brennan hobbling around the sidelines with crutches.

Brennan, who hurt is ankle last week Friday before the game against UNLV, played the game, racking up rushing touchdowns and passing touchdowns, but may be paying the price. The warriors have been off to a great start this season, lead by their quarterback, as they try to make a name for themselves on the national scene.

They go into the game against non-conference opponent Charleston Southern ranked 18th in the nation. Backing up Brennan if needed to help UH hold that position is fourth year junior Tyler Graunke.

June Jones obviously hasn’t made any big decisions yet but the word on the street is that Brennan may be able to practice as early as Thursday, giving him time to test his ankle for Saturdays game at Aloha Stadium.

Colt Brennan Leads Nation In Passing After Week 1

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

This weekends UH football game set the tone for the season. They managed to allow only 6 points against DI-AA opponent Northern Colorado while scoring 63 points of their own.

Colt Brennan, Heisman hopeful, played only 1 half of football and looked like he didn’t even loose a single beat from where he left off last season. He ended the half completing 34 of 40 passes for 416 yards. This leads the nation and he only played one half!

There was one thing that looked a little different this year as I sat in the stands saturday night watching Colt run his offense. All the players had all eyes on Brennan, all the time. He looked in total control in the huddle, total control at the line, and never looked rattled once. Can this poise take him to a Heisman trophy? Only the season will tell.

UH Warrior Football Ready for the ‘07 Season

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

The University of Hawaii Warrior football team is ready to begin it’s 2007 season with a night game against Northern Colorado at Aloha Stadium. Hawaii comes into the game with a pre-season ranking of 23, the first time warrior football has been in the pre-season polls.

Northern Colorado is a Division I-AA team while the Warriors are Division I.

A lot of buzz is surrounding the warriors as they had an amazing season last year being lead by QB Colt Brennan who’s come back for another year to see what records he can shatter, if he can win a heisman trophy, and who knows, maybe get into a prestigiuos bowl game and say Aloha to the Aloha Bowl for one year.

It will be interesting to see if they come out prepared this year or if they’ll expect to roll over Northern Colorado. Already today number 5 Michigan lost to a Division I-AA team, lets not see another ranked DI team loose out.
